# The form builder: the three workspaces

The form builder is your creative studio. Instead of one cluttered screen, ChatWisp organizes it into **three focused workspaces** — so you can concentrate on one part of the job at a time.

## The Agent workspace — design the interviewer

This is where you give your AI interviewer a personality, a voice, and a speaking style. It opens **simple by default**: a gallery of character archetypes and a profile card where you name your interviewer, tune the **humor, warmth, and formality** dials, hear or swap the voice, and choose the speech model.

Toggle to **Advanced** for full control — conversation style, per-question probing limits, your confidential research motive, and guardrails. You can also add **knowledge** here so your interviewer can answer respondent questions, not just ask them.

## The Form workspace — build the questions

This is where you author and order questions and set up branching. Two views let you work however you like:

- **List view** — your questions as drag-and-drop cards; expand a card to edit everything inline.
- **Map view** — a visual, branching canvas where core questions form a spine and conditional follow-ups branch off, connected by animated lines.

From either view you can add, edit, reorder, duplicate, and remove questions, attach images to choice options, mark questions required or optional, and add a **probing intent** (a hint about what to listen for). A **Don't probe** toggle keeps simple factual questions snappy, and a **transition note** lets the interviewer say a short aside before a question. Warning badges flag design issues before they reach respondents.

## The Customize workspace — brand, publish & share

This is where you handle appearance (accent color, light or dark, logo), language, welcome and closing screens, team visibility, and all [publish](/knowledge-base/building-forms/publishing-lifecycle)ing and sharing controls, including response limits and expiration.

## Why three workspaces

Separating Agent, Form, and Customize means you can focus — tune the personality without distraction, build questions without clutter, then handle [branding](/knowledge-base/account-team/branding) and distribution as a clean final step.
