How charts work
When respondents answer a question, ChatWisp automatically renders a chart that shows the aggregate pattern, readable labels and context (percentages, averages, distributions), and just enough detail to spot trends without clutter.
The full chart menu
- Scored questions (Rating, NPS, Scale, Likert) show your central tendency — the average or median — alongside a distribution view, so you see both the headline and the spread.
- Choice questions (Single select, Multi select, Ranking, Allocation) render as donut charts, bar charts, or medal podiums, always with the most popular or top-ranked items prominent.
- Open-text questions show a sentiment breakdown (positive, neutral, negative), a word cloud of what people mention most, and a collection of standout quotes.
- Numeric and date questions display summary stats (average, median, range) plus a histogram of how responses spread.
More than just charts
Charts update live as new responses arrive. Hover to see exact counts, and when you want to dig deeper, ask the Insight Analyst to cross-tabulate results, surface themes, or build a custom view.
Common questions
Can I change the chart for a question?
The chart follows the question type, which is what keeps the dashboard readable without configuration. To change the visualisation, change the question type in the builder and the chart follows.
What happens with very few responses?
Small samples are shown but not dressed up. Comparisons carry their sample size, and anything below the reliability threshold is marked rather than presented as a finding.
How are open-text answers charted?
They are clustered into themes with a representative quote each, alongside sentiment and a word cloud. The themes come from the wording of the answers, and each one links back to the responses behind it.
Can I put these charts in a deck?
Export the data as CSV or JSON and chart it wherever you like, or export the insight report as Markdown to paste into a doc.
