The guided setup wizard is the fastest way to go from a blank page to a working form. It turns a few simple choices into a complete, thoughtfully designed starting draft — and every text field lets you speak instead of type.
Open the wizard
On your dashboard, click + New form. (The gallery of ready-made templates and the blank canvases stay one click away from the wizard's "Skip" link, and any template there can be sent into the wizard with Customize in the wizard.)
Step by step
- What do you want to learn? Type or speak your goal ("Why players stop playing our game," "Employee pulse on remote work"). The more specific you are, the sharper your form — and a form can be about anything. Templates are optional: this step offers Browse templates, and when one of our templates genuinely fits your goal it suggests it (saying what it matched on). Ignore both and just continue — the form is built from your goal alone. If you do pick one, it is a starting point, not the answer: you shape it in the next steps.
- What are you making? A form or survey, or a quiz that ends in a result.
- What kind of form? Pick an AI Voice Form (a real conversation) or a Classic Form (a traditional form; then choose the layout). For an AI form you also pick how voice answers are captured — hands-free flow or push-to-talk. If you choose Classic, the wizard skips the interviewer-design steps entirely.
- Who is answering? Describe your audience to tune the tone and examples.
- Your questions — paste or speak any exact questions you already know you want. Wispy keeps them word-for-word and in order as the backbone of your form, then adds smart supporting questions and follow-ups around them. To make one a choice question, put the options in brackets: Which plan were you on? (Free, Pro, Business). If you started from a template, this step shows every template question with a keep checkbox and its wording ready to edit — keep what fits, drop what doesn't, add your own. Wispy rewrites the kept questions for your goal and audience.
- Depth (AI forms) — how much the interviewer digs into an answer: Quick pulse, Standard, or Deep dive. When your questions are already decided (a template or your own list) this only sets follow-up depth; otherwise it also sets the question count.
The next steps appear only for AI Voice Forms:
- Boundaries (optional) — set topics to never talk about and topics to never probe deeper on. Both are honored in every conversation.
- Meet your interviewer — approve the interviewer Wispy recommends for your goal, or pick a personality archetype, name your interviewer, fine-tune the humor, warmth, and formality dials, hear and swap the voice, and choose the speaking model.
Then, for both kinds of form: Review a brand-aware summary of everything you chose, including your starting point (your goal alone, your own questions, or the template and how many of its questions you kept).
Create it
Click Create my form. On plans with the AI form builder, a playful loading screen appears while Wispy designs it for your exact goal; on other plans the form is assembled from your template and questions instantly. Either way you land in the full builder with your form saved as a draft — ready to refine, preview, and publish when it's right. Nobody can answer it before you publish, and if anything cannot be generated (rare), your own questions are used instead, so you are never stuck.
